An eye on grapevines in April

So, here we are dear readers, plunging right into the natural spectacle that miraculously happens every year in spring in Switzerland: the awakening of nature. Of course, in this post, we again have an eye on grapevines on the Lindenhof farm, but not only, because way too much is going on there :0).

What a difference to what we saw in February and March! You may want to look at the posts on a split screen to enjoy and be even more amazed by the changes :-).

Grapevines’ buds have swollen a little bit by the first days of April and you see how they are still tenderly protected by what reminds me of a ball of wool. Through it, the first leaves are finely shimmering. Isn’t this pure magic?

Of chocolate and cake

I am sitting in the train eating my box of admittedly a bit boring but obviously very healthy and nice tasting curry rice I prepared for myself the evening before, when two people, a teenage girl and an elderly man, join me in the four-people compartment.

I am about to make space for the man when he says: “Oh, don’t worry, I don’t wanna disturb your having lunch, I can sit vis-à-vis.” “You don’t disturb me.”, I reply.

“I don’t want you to choke on your lunch when I nudge you while sitting down. You shall enjoy your lunch. By the way, your lunch looks very healthy, madam, I should have your habits.”, he continues. Read more

What is the craziest or funniest or the most amazing place you spent the night(s)?

As you can probably relate from the heading photograph, I treasure fond and deep memories of sleeping in veritable wilderness surrounded by nature’s sound – which can also be absolute stillness – watching the sun go down and rising over breathtakingly vast and wonderful landscapes sharing the outdoor lounge with wildlife of all kinds and sizes such as spiders, mosquitos, birds, baboons, crocodiles, kangaroos, lions, elephants…
