It is holiday time! Yay!

Well, mine will only be later in the year, but it means cities are now quieter, trains emptier, and you can easily find a spot wherever you are looking for one, in the garden of a restaurant, along the lake’s shore, in front of the gelateria (ice cream selling stand) ;0).

Just so, I’d like to share some Swissness with you today. They are some impressions from one mountain village in the Bernese Alps.

Houses surely are an eye-catcher. Even as a Swiss I can’t get enough of them and often stand in front of these beauties with a warm feeling in my heart and belly. Luckily, I am at home in many places on this planet, and here surely is one of them.

In sight of all this beauty, you probably hardly focus on the roses…

But they make the front of this house picture perfect from my point of view. It does not get any better :0).

People care a lot about how the front of their houses look like, so they maintain it properly and add beauty with a loving hand. Unfortunately, the scent can not (yet) be digitally transferred. Just take an eye full, close your eyes and imagine it.

I thought, I bring the icing on the cake at the end…

Surrounded by nature and summer sounds only, we stand in awe here. Some of the most iconic mountains in Switzerland build the background: Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Some clouds hide the peaks of the first two. But you still see the towering Eiger north face and the Jungfrau.
