Sky paintings

“The sky is the ultimative art gallery just above us.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

How often do you stand still to look up into the sky?
When did you last get lost watching the clouds or a sunset?
How do you then feel?

The sky is the daily bread of the eyes. Ralph Waldo Emerson also said.

Emerson’s quotes deeply resonate with me as my eyes are drawn to the sky several times a day. In summer I love to watch the birds, especially the very acrobatic ones like swifts, swallows, and birds of prey. All year round I am amazed by the clouds and their colours. Some of this fascination you see here.

It is a common sight to find me riding my bicycle looking up to the sky alternating with concentration on the road and it is a must for me to see the wide sky from home. Regularly I stand at the window and appreciate a sunset, the blue and night sky, the changing of the weather, the interaction of physics and chemistry, the wonder of a moonrise, or its crescent, a rainbow – which I would run through the apartment for to not miss it, whenever there is rain and sunshine outside.

The sky seems to be ever changing and is – like nature – a beautiful symbol for life:
“There is nothing permanent except change.” Heraclitus

Do you also take pictures of the sky? The images you see here mainly stem from my phone and are without filters applied to them but rather pure natural art.

Thank you for being here today, dear readers. I wish you many sky moments today, tomorrow, the day after, and the next day, the next week, and in the months to come…
