Swiss Postcard Sceneries

I have seen and travelled to many corners of my home country, but there is always something new to discover. Today I share some pics with you of gorgeous landscapes I saw in just one day on one hike. That is why I call them Swiss postcard sceneries ;0).

Now, let’s go hiking in the Bernese Alps.

The flora is in full bloom. Here you look at a meadow of buttercups mixed with splashes of other flowers. The backdrop? Well, it is formed by the Alps :-).

Welcome to Lauenensee – Lake Lauenen

Here comes the icing on the cake: Just a week after the lockdown was lifted in Switzerland, we had this magnificent and normally very popular scenery almost all to ourselves. Yay!

Push for a good bit of more difference in altitude and enter slightly rougher terrain on your way to several impressive waterfalls and sceneries.

What do you think so far?

My thoughts consisted of “wow” only and I could sit by that water forever. But down we went again along the upper river and along the Lake Lauenen once more, but now on the other side.

Only to reach the valley and find the “Louibach”(a stream) peacefully and in typical meltwater colors flowing downstream.

When you think that was it. Nope. :0)

Shortly before being back in the village you come across a marsh where grass is stacked to dry the old fashioned way and the Alps still make for such an awesome canvas. Sure enough part of the village goes well on a postcard, too.
